I've decided: no more excuses! It's time I switch to safe, eco-friendly natural cleansers and kitchen products. And I want to help you do the same, so we've put together a selection of green, eco-friendly cleaners and products. But we're most excited about our Green-Living kits, perfectly packaged to give as a hostess gift, a Thank You for friends and family, and as a housewarming fit for the new homeowner. I especially like these for recent graduates in their first apartments. They're full of both hot-new products, like MuKitchen bamboo dishcloths, and tried-and-true classics, such as Bon Ami cleaners. Let me know what you think of these products and these kits!

About Sunfeather Soaps.
Sunfeather's history began in the fall of 1979 when founder Sandy Maine blended a passion for fragrant and medicinal herbs with a fascination and skill for soapmaking. Her company, Sunfeather Soaps, continues her development legacy and founding philosophies. The artisanal products are made in small quantities by traditional methods. Their fine natural soaps, creams, and balms are made from healthy, organic ingredients such as freshly pressed olive and avocado oils from the Mediterranean; edible coconut, palm, and castor oils from the Pacific Rim; sustainably-harvested, fair trade shea butter from Africa; and dried herbs, botanicals, naturally derived colorants, essential and natural identical oils, butters, and waxes from around the globe.

About Summer House Natural Soaps of Cape Cod
Summer House Natural Soaps is a family business based out of a 200-year-old house and barn on Cape Cod. Each soap is carefully made in small batches using the cold-process method which best preserves the beneficial qualities of its ingredients. Summer House starts with food-grade olive oil, which makes a particularly mild and moisturizing bar. To that they add coconut oil for rich lather, palm oil for long-lasting hardness, and other oils and butters chosen for their skin conditioning properties. They mix these batters by hand and pour them into wooden molds, which are wrapped in blankets for three days while the alchemy of saponification unfolds. After the soap sets, the bars are cut, cured for three weeks to further develop mildness, and beautifully wrapped in handmade papers.
The finished bar also contains 25% glycerin a humectant that attracts moisture to the skin. They also add oatmeal, honey, buttermilk, cocoa butter, healing herbs and botanical oils, mineral colors, exfoliators, and more. The result is a face and body soap that's luxurious, long lasting, and mild.
About Bon Ami
Bon Ami was started in the 1880s. It was a "green" product then, before green was a category for anything but a color, and it still is green. The Bon Ami formula has been updated for contemporary kitchen surfaces and contemporary sensibilities, with different products to meet different cleaning needs. The ingredients are simple, effective, and proudly listed right on the package. Bon Ami is always biodegradable, nontoxic, and hypoallergenic.
Be sure to notice the bottles—they are a bit foggy sometimes. That's because they use 100% post–consumer recycled plastic bottle for their products. Their labels and adhesive are the most compatible with the recycle team, too. So go ahead and feel good about the product AND the plastic bottles.
Since 1929 the Espoma company has been the pioneer in natural gardening solutions. Their Holly-tone organic plant food and new Espoma Organic Potting Mixes provide the natural organic products that work in harmony with nature to grow beautiful lawns and gardens, preserve natural resources, and make a safer world for future generations.
Green Lighting Tip
CFL is a Compact Florescent Bulb. These are the swirley little guys that look like soft-serve ice cream cones. Actually, they come in myriad shapes, sizes, and colors of light. Economically speaking, they're a great deal, too. CFLs cost a bit more than incandescent, but use about a quarter as much energy and last many times longer – usually around 10,000 hours. It is estimated that a CFL pays for its higher price after about 500 hours of use. After that, it's money in your pocket. Also, because CFLs release less heat, not only are they safer, but cooling costs are less in the summer.
